MATT WEST, CEO

Originally from Chapel Hill, NC, Mr. West has a background in International Business and Marketing. He received his bachelorís degree from the University of Georgia and an MBA with a concentration in International Business and Marketing from the USC Moore School of Business. He has worked and studied on a graduate level around the world including Europe, Australia, and Asia as well as helped manage an undergraduate course in consumer behavior. Prior to co-founding SMS, his professional career includes work with the Florida Marlins Baseball Club, Michelin North America, as well as Charleston Marine Containers, Inc.

ERIC NUSSBAUMER, PRESIDENT

Eric grew up in Chapel Hill, NC as well and obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at ChapelHill in 1997 with a B.S. in business administration. Following graduation Eric began an accomplished five-year career in advertising, first working as an account executive for Bouvier-Kelly, Inc., a full-service advertising and marketing firm in Greensboro, NC. Eric then moved to Washington, DC and worked as an account executive for the Bomstein Agency, another full-service marketing company. Clients included International Paper, Washington Laser Eye Center, VOB BMW, Fieldcrest Cannon, Pulte Homes, and the University of Maryland among others. Eric returned to the University of North Carolina and earned his MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Eric also boasts international experience as he studied and worked for AT&T in Australia in 1995.

CHUCK GRABOWSKI, DIRECTOR OF WEB DEVELOPMENT

Chuck is a native of Chapel Hill, NC. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Mathematics with a focus in Computer Science, he worked in the high-tech industry. His first place of employment, Tech Resource Group, was primarily a classroom software training company, but quickly added a web presence with his guidance. His second place of employment was his own start-up company, Promethods Inc. where he built both web and software applications for clients like Nortel, Toshiba, Powerware, Edward Valves, MyFordParts, and numerous auto dealerships. His most recent place of employment has been GlaxoSmithKline, the second largest pharmaceutical company in world. At GlaxoSmithKline, Chuck has worked on adding web development standards to all of their Business-to-Consumer Websites (like diabeteslife.com, levitra.com, malarone.com, advair.com). Away from the office, Chuck enjoys playing with his newborn son and his two dogs.

MATT CHENET, PRODUCTION DIRECTOR

Fellow North Carolinian Matt Chenet also earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He pursued a degree in communications, with an emphasis on media studies and video production. During his tenure at UNC, Matt held various positions including assisting local documentary filmmakers and a summer internship at Twentieth Century Fox in Los Angeles. After graduating in 1998, he interned as a production and camera assistant for the WB teen drama, Dawson's Creek. Deciding he wanted to combine his interests in nature and outdoor adventure with his love for film and video, Matt pursued a position with the Discovery Channel in Washington, DC, and has been working in the television industry ever since. His clients have included all the Discovery Networks (Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, TLC, Animal Planet), National Geographic, and BBC America. After gaining professional experience editing, writing and producing for television, Matt left his full-time position with Discovery to freelance. He's currently working as a writer and producer for Discovery International which includes an editing job in NYC for a 90-minute documentary on the History Channel. Self-employed, Matt also pursues film projects on his own, working out of his home in Georgetown.
